The Grodan planting cube measuring 3.6 x 3.6 x 4 cm has a small hole in the middle and is thus predestined for sowing seeds or for rooting fresh cuttings. The plastic planter makes it easy to handle.

Grodan planting cube is a practical and recyclable growing medium.
It is made from basalt wool and calcium by melting in a furnace at 1500 °C.
This produces a "stone" lava, which is further processed into thin fibres and then pressed into the desired shape.
This process makes Grodan a completely sterile and inert medium.
The mineral felt (rockwool) has the ability to hold a large amount of water and also maintains a balanced air ratio, which ensures the unique development of the root system of the plant being grown.
