The Grodan propagation cube measuring 3.6 x 3.6 x 4 cm features a small hole in the center, making it ideal for sowing seeds or rooting fresh cuttings.

The Grodan propagation cube is a practical and recyclable growing medium. It is manufactured from basalt wool and calcium by melting in a furnace at 1,500 °C. This process creates a "stone" lava, which is further processed into thin fibers and then pressed into the desired shape. As a result of this process, Grodan is a completely sterile and inert medium. Mineral wool (rockwool) has the ability to retain large amounts of water while also maintaining a balanced air-to-water ratio, ensuring unique root system development for the cultivated plant.

USAGE: Before use, NEVER FORGET to soak the rockwool (cubes, slabs, loose fill, etc.) in a sufficient amount of lukewarm water (ideally 25 °C). The water must have a pH adjusted to 4.8–6 (depending on the needs of the plants being grown). Allow the rockwool to drain properly to remove excess water. Smaller propagation cubes are used for germinating seeds and seedlings. Larger growing cubes or compact meter-long slabs are intended for subsequent growth stages.

Grodan products have no negative impact on the environment and are highly water-efficient, making them suitable for outdoor or organic growing as well.
